I am not advocating violence because it is not yet called for.
But it looks like some people think it is time to send our elected reps a message and the method of delivery involves the 2nd Amendment:
Three shots fired at a federal courthouse in Oregon late Wednesday or early Thursday hit windows in U.S. Rep. Peter DeFazio’s office, while a fourth shot hit a wall above the office, the FBI said.
No one was in the second-floor office at the time, and the Democratic congressman’s staffers in Eugene found the damage when they arrived for work Thursday morning.
Investigators believe the shots were fired between 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday, FBI spokeswoman Beth Anne Steele said, adding they’re not certain that DeFazio’s office was the intended target.
”Right now, our biggest concern is determining why this happened,” Steele said, adding the FBI doesn’t know whether the shooter or shooters were trying to hurt anyone. ”We’re obviously taking this very seriously.”
DeFazio spokeswoman Molly Simmons confirmed the congressman was in Washington, D.C., at the time.
On the other side, Lou Dobbs had shots fired into his home so now Sheriff Arpaio is getting extra protection.
The security of an Arizona sheriff who has aggressively cracked down on illegal immigration is under review after a shooting scare involving CNN commentator Lou Dobbs.
A bullet struck Dobbs’ New Jersey home on Oct. 5. On his radio show this week, Dobbs connected the gunshot to his advocacy for a crackdown on illegal immigration.
Authorities in New Jersey say they’re still investigating and have not yet identified a suspect. They noted that small-game hunting season is under way.
Maricopa County sheriff’s spokesman Ryan Lee says the agency is concerned for Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s safety considering that both Arpaio and Dobbs are extremely vocal about their stance on illegal immigration.
Lee also points to protests that Arpaio’s television and newspaper interviews have incited.
Arpaio’s security detail is looking at the current level of security provided to the sheriff and whether more security is now warranted.

They just take a lot more work and money to acquire.
