Now it’s his appointment as federal judge a man who was an ACORN fundraiser, David Hamilton!
Among Hamilton’s “qualifications” is the fact that he is a former fund raiser for ACORN. That fact was conspicuously left out of the White House statement announcing Obama’s nomination of the federal district judge for a position on the Seventh Circuit federal appeals court.
Even though it was only for a month, the fact Hamilton would work for any length of time for ACORN is disturbing. And there is no evidence that he has ever subsequently repudiated his association with ACORN.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has scheduled a Senate confirmation vote on Hamilton’s nomination for Tuesday, Nov. 17.
As the American Civil Rights Union’s Ken Klukowski details ….. Hamilton is an ACLU big-wig who also has a deeply hypocritical view of Christianity:
“He has also shown surprising hostility to people of Christian faith. He ruled that any prayers uttered in the Indiana statehouse that invoke the name of Jesus Christ are unconstitutional and cannot be permitted.
“Nor can anyone offer a prayer that is ‘sectarian’ or ‘pervasively Christian.’ Oddly, although prayers mentioning Jesus are somehow a threat to the republic, Judge Hamilton said that it’s okay to offer prayers to Allah.”

In the 2007 case United States v. Rinehart, Hamilton requested clemency for a 32-year-old police officer who pled guilty to two counts of child pornography. The officer said he had “consensual” sex with two teenagers and videotaped the incidents.
In 2008, Hamilton issued a ruling against a law requiring sex offenders to release personal information such as e-mail addresses and screen names, and to submit to regular search warrants.
(Jeff) Sessions said Hamilton declared in a 2003 speech that a judge’s primary job is “write footnotes in the Constitution” and said he believes “empathy” should sway a judge’s decisions.
“This view evidences an activist judicial philosophy,” Sessions warned. “Judges are not given the power to amend the Constitution or write footnotes to it.”
Earlier this year, Hamilton defended that statement, telling the Senate Judiciary Committee, “the concept of the footnote implies what we’re trying to do is not something new, but work out the details of how those principles (in the Constitution) apply to new situations.”
Sessions noted that Hamilton denied a rabbi’s plea to have a menorah as part of the Indianapolis Municipal Building holiday display in 1994. The 7th Circuit unanimously reversed the decision.
Also, in 2003, Hamilton struck down an Indiana informed consent law requiring women to receive information about risks and alternatives to abortion in the presence of a physician or nurse 18 hours before the procedure. Hamilton said the provision imposed an “undue burden” on women. His ruling was later dismissed by a panel of the 7th Circuit after appeal.
“In reversing, the 7th Circuit noted that Judge Hamilton had abused his judicial discretion,” Sessions wrote.
As if that weren’t bad enough, it looks like Obama (mmm, mmm, mmm) wants to have legislation to allow 12 million illegals to become legal!!!
The Obama administration will insist on measures to give legal status to an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants as it pushes early next year for legislation to overhaul the immigration system, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said on Friday.
In an address at the Center for American Progress, a liberal policy group in Washington, Ms. Napolitano sought to dispel any notion that the administration — with health care, energy and other major issues crowding its agenda — might postpone the most contentious piece of an immigration overhaul until after midterm elections next November.
Laying out the administration’s bottom line, she said it will argue for a “three-legged stool” that includes enacting tougher enforcement laws against illegal immigrants and the people who hire them, and streamlining the system for legal immigration, but also what she called a “tough and fair pathway to earned legal status.”

“Let me emphasize this,” she said. “We will never have fully effective law enforcement or national security as long as so many millions remain in the shadows.”Under the administration’s plan, illegal immigrants would have to register, pay fines and all taxes they owe, pass a criminal background check and learn English.
WOW!! A “get out of jail free” card! Will we be given forgiveness for breaking laws like these MFCSPOS?
As for them being in the shadows? You dumb c**t!! There is no need to worry about that if you’d only enforce laws currently on the books that penalize those who enable illegal immigration.
Think about it. Our economy sucks. There are no jobs. So the way to help AMERICANS get jobs is to legalize 12 million illegals so they can compete for the jobs that don’t exist and then be given cushy federal benefits we won’t be able to get because we’re not wetbacks?
