Organizing for America, a fundraising arm of the DNC, sent an email to supporters today in an attempt to raise $500,000 off her assertion this fall that Democratic health care bills would create panels of government bureaucrats to decide end-of-life care.
“It’s dangerous. Remember, this is the person who coined the term ‘Death Panels’– and opened the flood gates for months of false attacks by special interests and partisan extremists. Whatever lie comes next will be widely covered by the media, then constantly echoed by right-wing attack groups and others who are trying to defeat reform,” reads the email from Organizing for America national director Mitch Stewart.
The email asks Obama supporters to donate $5 to “help push back against Sarah Palin and her allies.”
Meanwhile, the bookstores in San Francisco, home of the fruits, nuts and flakes, are refusing to carry her book. You’ll love to learn the reasons these arrogant elitists homo loving, Mao loving, America haters do so.
“Our customers are thinking people,” said Nathan Embretson, a bookseller at Pendragon Books in Oakland. “They’re not into reading drivel.”
There’s not a single copy on the shelf. Embretson said no one has asked for it except for one guy, who was kidding.
“He said he wanted to look at it but he also said he didn’t really want to read it,” Embretson said. “Anyway, he certainly didn’t want to buy it. I think he regarded looking at it as a kind of punishment.”…
Had she ordered 50 copies of the book, Cotleur said, she would probably wind up shipping 50 copies of the book back to the publisher in a couple of weeks.
“I would expect to take a bath on it,” she said. “The job of a book buyer is to be something of a psychic. You have to know your community. I don’t want to waste a lot of money and shelf space on a book nobody wants.’
Oh, and that 1st Amendment thing? Apparently only if it’s books that fall in line with how THEY think:
“Anything like that we wouldn’t carry,” said clerk Emily Stackhouse. “We’re a small store and it would probably gross us all out. Some things you carry because of freedom of speech, but a book like that is just gross.”
I think it’d be funny to have any remaining conservatives in San Francisco show up at these book stores asking for the book and when they were told it was not being carried, inform the clerk what a shame that was since they were wanting to buy 2 or 3 copies as gifts.
Who knows? After a few visits like that those stores might realize they were losing lots of profit, order a bunch of them, and then no one would return to buy them, leaving the store in the lurch for those copies.

Grayjohn, the people like this bookstore owner are not really into personalities. It’s not that they’re really “Obamazombies” – for many true leftists he isn’t left enough – it’s that they’re anti-conservative/right.
The hardcore left is into reading Noam Chomsky, Derrida, Foucault, et al. I know because I used to be one of them 20-odd years ago – until I woke up.
The bottom line is that Palin worries them quite a bit, especially considering that she currently holds no public office.
