Be interesting to learn what the bloated gas bags in Denmark have come up with this week. Meanwhile, reading the papers I found a number of letters to the editor today and this one stands out.
We have seen ‘experts’ cry wolf too often to take climate change at face value
As the Copenhagen summit on climate change opens, the public has grown tired of constant scare stories
Oh, just so you know. report Dec. 5 mentioned below. The Prime Minister of this country has referred to ppl who don’t believe as anti-science and flat earthers.

SIR – Gordon Brown pours scorn on climate-change sceptics, calling them “flat-earthers” and “anti-science” (report, December 5).
I am surprised that he does not realise the main reason for our scepticism. Over the last three decades the public has been bombarded, via an enthusiastic media, with expert predictions of doom – acid rain, a new ice age, the millennium bug, Sars, chicken flu, weapons of mass destruction. All were predicted by scientific “experts” to change, if not end, life as we knew it. Many of these experts made a healthy living out of their work.

ok, now let the fun begin. I couldn’t embed this but no matter. Here’s a link.

My happiness at seeing suspicions of politicized science confirmed (the hell with the data, we’re pursuing a Greater Good) is tempered with awareness of damage done to real science.
One of these days we’ll dismiss a real, dangerous threat as just another bullshit hype.
