Here’s my take on this whole boondoggle: The Dems have it figured that the mess were in will take care of itself in a year or two and by spending all our money they will take credit for the solution while establishing a “nanny state” in the process.

That is a cop-out excuse and a pathetic rationalization, OCM. They are our leaders. They’re supposed to be better than the rest of us, set an example and all that. Also, if you or I fudge the numbers and get caught, we don’t get elected to Congress or appointed to cabinet positions; we pay heavy fines and/or go to jail.

I never had either. We used to even claim babysitting money my wife got even though the people she babysat for never claimed it on their taxes as a deduction.
Thing is, Daschle was one of the people who wrote the tax laws. Congress writes the laws and he used to be the Senate Majority Leader. If anyone should have known, it was him.
