Yesterday in my AIG post I put in a news story where Chris Dodd (Democrat, Liar and hypocritical POS, CT) denied knowing anything about the legislation allowing AIG to pay bonuses.
Looks like he’s had a change of heart.
Senate Banking committee Chairman Christopher Dodd told CNN Wednesday that he was responsible for language added to the federal stimulus bill to make sure that already-existing contracts for bonuses at companies receiving federal bailout money were honored.
Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Connecticut, appears on CNN’s “The Situation Room” on Wednesday.Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Connecticut, appears on CNN’s “The Situation Room” on Wednesday.
Dodd acknowledged his role in the change after a Treasury Department official told CNN the administration pushed for the language.
Both Dodd and the official, who asked not to be named, said it was because administration officials were afraid the government would face numerous lawsuits without the new language.
Dodd, a Democrat, told CNN’s Dana Bash and Wolf Blitzer that Obama administration officials pushed for the language to an amendment designed to limit bonuses and “golden parachutes” at those companies.
“The administration had expressed reservations,” Dodd said. “They asked for modifications. The alternative was losing the amendment entirely.”
On Tuesday, Dodd denied to CNN that he had anything to do with adding the language, which has been used by officials at bailed-out insurance giant AIG to justify paying millions of dollars in bonuses to executives after receiving federal money.
He said Wednesday that the “grandfather clause” language “seemed like innocent modifications” at the time. Video Watch Dodd’s interview with CNN’s Dana Bash »
“I agreed reluctantly,” Dodd said. “I was changing the amendment because others were insistent.”
Dodd said he did not speak to high-ranking administration officials and the change came after his staff spoke with staffers from Treasury.
The White House did not immediately respond to CNN’s request for comment.
So now Dodd throws Obama, The-Quicker-Fucker-Upper, under the bus! Don’t hold your breath waiting for TQFU admit to any of this.
Hell, even CNN calls him a liar!
Well, well!!! How about that! Now CNN has pulled their video calling Dodd a liar. Gee! I wonder who put pressure on them to do so? Anyone know where I can find it?
Nevermind. Just did.

What better way for politicians to put their money where their mealy-mouths are than to return the money they got from AIG.
The Indiana congressman wants politicians from both parties to return campaign contributions from the company, which triggered a firestorm this week with news its executives were getting $165 million despite receiving $173 billion in bailout funds.
So far, no Democrats seem to be seconding Pence’s call to return the campaign cash. During a news conference Wednesday, a reporter asked President Barack Obama whether he planned to return the $101,332 he received during the campaign. The president dodged the question.
These SOBs in the administration are nothing short of arrogant, hypocritical lowlifes. I’m beginning to think we are a banana republic the way they act with such apparent impugnity and no criticism from the press.
According to the Center for Responsive Politics, AIG employees have contributed more than $9 million to federal candidates and PACs during the past 20 years, making the company one of the top contributors.
Two top Banking Committee Democrats lashing out at AIG — Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn. — are among the top recipients of AIG campaign donations. Schumer has taken in more than $111,000 from AIG during the past 20 years, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, while Dodd has received more $280,000.
“The fact that these two senators are not the harshest objecting is ironic to say the least,” Pence said.
AMEN!!
Here’s a list of just the 2008 donations.

Is there a person anywhere in the universe that truly grasps
all 1000 pages of the stimulus plan?
